Who We Are

The Tanzania Society for Dermatovenereology (TASOD) is the representative organization for Dermatovenerologists or Dermatologists and in both the government and private sectors in Tanzania.

The society was established in 2015 and officially registered on 21st December 2017. It currently has a membership of 48 Dermatovenereologists or dermatologist working across the country to improve dermatological health services.

Our History

2015

TASOD was established by a group of dedicated dermatovenereology professionals

December 21, 2017

Officially registered as a professional society in Tanzania

2018-Present

Grown to 48 members working across Tanzania, hosting annual conferences, and contributing to dermatological health policy

Our Mission

To bring together Dermatologist/Dermatovenereologist to provide good quality dermatological health throughout the country and form a platform for the profession.

Our Vision

To connect the Tanzanian Dermatovenereologist to make them more productive and successful in serving the nation's dermatological health needs.

Quality

To promote the highest standards of clinical practice, professional conduct and ethical principles of practice of dermatovenereology in Tanzania and to ensure all members adhere to them at all times.

Education

TASOD aims to provide continuous education through webinars, academic meetings, workshops and courses, ensuring the professional growth of members.

Research

Through research, data is collected that will inform local practice and guide policymakers and establish a knowledge base for future practitioners.

Partnerships

The society promotes cooperation with local and international organizations and agencies sharing similar principles and goals.

Advising the government and stakeholders on policy development related to the specialty
